ABOUT STRATHMERE PLOVER PROJECT

At Strathmere Plovers Project, our mission is to:

 

(1) Raise awareness of the complex threats and challenges facing beach-nesting birds.

 

(2) Encourage people to respect and be good stewards of these birds and our beaches.

 

(3) Provide a safer haven for endangered Piping Plovers and other protected birds who nest on our beaches so they have a better chance to successfully raise their chicks.

 

(4) Be advocates and educators about the year-round importance of our beaches for the survival of birds and other wildlife, and as a support for our own quality of life.

 

(5) Show that everyone can make a difference through education, understanding, and respect for nature.
